Bugle Basin takes in some breath taking pristine alpine wilderness. Your hosts Alex and Lori Smutny welcome you to some of the finest Big Game Hunting and Back Country Recreation adventures in the BC Rockies.

The Bull River Guest Ranch, located just 40 minutes outside of Cranbrook, offers relaxed western hospitality and adventures that are truly unforgettable. The Ranch is situated on approximately 200 acres nestled against the backdrop of the mighty Rocky Mountains. In addition to the Ranch property, there are several thousand acres of government crown land adjacent to the ranch which provides endless scenery and enjoyment to visitors. The Bull River Guest Ranch is the perfect getaway for travellers looking for a change from the ordinary.

This park is a wonderful place for bird watching or enjoying a walk in the evening around the mulch trails. Listen to the songs of the many native songbirds or watch from one of the bird watching blinds around the lake. The area is home to hundreds of species of birds and a very enthusiastic group of birders.
A bird checklist and circle birding tour guide brochure is available and can be picked up at the Cranbrook Visitor Centre. The circle tour begins at Elizabeth Lake, continues to Kimberley's Nature Park and Wasa Lake.

Walk through an extensive interpretative area featuring aquariums, educational models, and displays, or around the the outdoor turtle pond and beautifully groomed hatchery grounds. Visitors can view (and possibly feed) some trophy-sized trout in the moat outside.
Thirty-two kilometres (20 mi) southeast of Cranbrook on Highway #3; 6 km (3.5 mi) north on Wardner/Fort Steele Road.
